A role model for Sri Lanka’s next generation

From attaining Test status in 1982 to winning the World Cup in 1996, Sri Lanka quickly turned their fortunes around shrugging the underdog status in a space of just 14 years. However, Sri Lanka’s meteoric rise in World Cricket can be attributed to the hard work, grit and determination of many legends who became a role model for the next generation cricketers. Aravinda de Silva, Sri Lanka’s premier batsman during 1984-2003, was one of those legends!
